Well, it's finally out there. It'd be great to see what levels people make with it. Be sure to post any comments/suggestions/bugs here.
I'll also be looking into any requests anyone has to offer about what they'd like to see added to Hooptie or PenguinEdit.

The game looks great! If I was making some text based maps for my game I would be very interested. Although right now I'm using archiving. The game has really improved since the last milestone. You should send it over to MacAddict, Inside Mac Games, and MacWorld and see if they could put it on their CDs. I think non-programmers would really like using just the apps.
Thanks,

Very nice. Making levels is fun, and scary. I did notice that my latest music wasn't added to it, though. :( I like it better than the 1st level music at least.

It had been added, but then I made the mistake of checking out a copy of Hooptie before committing my changes so they were lost. It's back in now, and it will be present in the download as soon as I can have the download changed. Entirely my fault, I apologize for not double-checking that the song had indeed been added.

Oh no problem, I just wondered what had happened.
I would like to make another one or two songs for Hooptie, and edit the Title track so it is how I planned it. So I already did a pseudo-intense in-game track, and a calypso crazy one as well. Anyone have a suggestion for what "style" the next one(s) should be?
I was also wondering where I would find out info about these milestone releases, like what the next one is, and what the game will be like when it is 1.0.

m4.mid sounds really cool! I like it. m0.mid is different I guess.

The next milestone release is not planned because Hooptie has run out of "steam". That means there's not enough ideas on the table in terms of modifications/additions to really warrant a new Milestone IV release.
If anyone has any suggestions for improvements and additions to the game, I'll make a rolling list of them on a sticky in this forum. When there's enough stuff on the list, a new milestone will be planned and executed with the help of anyone willing to contribute.
The game will be declared 1.0 when it will have enough levels, (I shoot for 15 personally,) that have enough variety and enough new things, (like rocks, hoverbot, but needs more new things.)
We're probably closer than .3, it doesn't mean there will be exactly seven milestones before 1.0.

IMG has been contacted just to post the announcement, but I haven't seen them do it yet and with each passing day the chances seem more remote that they will. MacAddict is a bit of a bigot with their CD, if they want it on there, it'll be there. I have not contacted MacWorld, I may in the near future.
I agree the game is starting to look very good just by itself, but at the core it is still a programmers' project for the sake of creating source code.

To each his own, but these two tracks serve different purposes (one's the splash music, the other's in-game music). For the curious, tracks m3 to m5 are in-game music. Feel free to put your own .mid's!
