Just a brainstorm session for tiles/baddies to consider adding to Hooptie. Nothing too complex, hopefully, but as always meant to spark further ideas/discussion.
Tiles:
Immovable Object: This is some object that Hooptie cannot move, or possibly one he can only move with a special powerup.
Single-Direction Space: Hooptie and ground-based enemies can only pass over this space in one direction.
Single-Pass Space: Once Hooptie crosses this space, it crumbles/falls, and becomes a pit or unpassable/immovable tile. Ground based enemies do not cross this space.
Melted Ice-Block: an ice block that cannot be used to fill in a pit or crush baddies, but it will block them in.
Hidden Single-Pass Space: similar to the single pass block, except that it looks just like normal ice until Hooptie steps over it.

Baddies:
TorchBot: Melts ice blocks into melted ice-blocks, he cannot be crushed and must be dropped into a pit or trapped in.
HoverBot: These are similar to scoutbots except that they are faster (actually, perhaps scoutbots should just be slower) and can fly right over pits and melted ice-blocks.
Aliens: These would come in a somewhat bird-like bio suit (I have some concept art I'm working on) and would be the most intelligent baddie. They would have lasers to fire at Hooptie or to melt ice blocks with.
What should be considered in concepts for baddies is their strengths and weaknesses -- Torchbots, for example, might be very slow and stupid. HoverBots tend to crash into each other. Aliens can kill Hooptie with the laser if he remains in their line of sight (and they can see through melted ice-blocks) for more than X seconds, but no less than X seconds. All of these tiles and baddies are just ideas, feel free to expand, contract, edit, blast, or improve any of them! And is there already a list of planned baddies/tiles? What about special items? Like the "Red Hat of Temporary Invincibility" or a pick-axe to destroy ice blocks (or to destroy melted ice-blocks?) or a cup of water that can be thrown over a single-tile pit to create a left-right or up-down bridge (as the ice freezes across the pit)? How would inventory be managed with the second two ideas, or is that too complex to worry about at all at this stage? Comment away! :)

Good ideas. Those would make Hooptie more of a puzzle game... which means it will look good AND be fun

All sound good.

Not too sure about this one, the graphics might look strange.

Sprites cannot move between tiles faster, but they can change tiles at a greater rate. Even if they are just different coloured ScoutBots I'd like to see "faster" ennemies out there or at least ones that think differently. See here (http://sourceforge.net/pm/task.php?func=detailtask&project_task_id=52546&group_id=31218&group_project_id=13463)
I wouldn't also mind a shooting something (Alien sounds good) but that will be a bit of a way away as there's still so much to do (including implement sound) (http://sourceforge.net/pm/task.php?group_id=31218&group_project_id=13463&func=browse&set=open&order=priority).

1) No, except for the SourceForge task manager (see link above).
2) I'd like to get the Golden Letters (http://sourceforge.net/pm/task.php?func=detailtask&project_task_id=52554&group_id=31218&group_project_id=13463) implemented soon.
3) As for the inventory we'll consider that in good time.
