Hi guys,
I recently stumbled across dexterity software (http://www.dexterity.com). There are quite a few good articles on running a shareware business written by the company's founder. Also there is a forum for people running a shareware business. Good stuff :)

Those articles are pretty frequently linked here; perhaps a 'general game dev articles/links' sticky is in order, to accompany the books sticky? (as the links page is currently down.)

Good idea! I would definitely like to read more of this kind of advice!
edit: How about adding it to the Web Links section ? :)

I remember when his banned ads were in rotation ... I didn't understand why there were all these ads for windows games :-) And then I read the articles... they were very good articles, although as I remember the author is a bit crazy (crazy dedicated, that is).

the author is crazy dedicated! I seem to remember that guy having a Windows-only puzzle game I liked (and Im not crazy about puzzle games). So I found it strange that he didnt have mac/linux versions. They were 2d sprite based games and could easily have been written with SDL or Allegro and been crossplatform with little extra work. All that yammerin about how to get the most return on your work and he passes up on those two extra sales opportunities (even tho yes, much smaller than Windows)?
