An update to Release Candidate 4 has been released. To update you will need the full working version of Hooptie 0.2rc4 available here (http://inkubator.idevgames.com/hooptie-cocoa-0.2.dmg.tgz).

Only download from the above link if you did not download release candiate four, otherwise keep reading.

This update increases the central timer's frequency (performance may improve, stay the same or worsen as a result). And fixes a bug whereby in exceptional circumstances a ScoutBot could slide under an Ice Block. However, sadly, these circumstances do not seem to correspond exactly to the situation mentioned by Kurjtyl.

The updater is available here (http://inkubator.idevgames.com/updater-0.2rc5.sit). It is just over 2% of the original disk image's size, which is why this technique of updating has been employed. The update is for the 0.2rc4 binary only.

To use it, download it, decompress it with StuffIt and double-click on it. Select "Update..." from the "File" menu and then select the copy of Hooptie 0.2rc4 which you wish to update (and have write-access to). If necessary you may want to then shift the binary into another folder (and back again if desired) to force the "Get Info..." settings to be updated by the Finder. The update does not delete any files (merely overwrites some) and will only work if the Info.plist's version of the application bundle corresponds to Hooptie's.

Although one should still be careful while updating, the updater should be considered relatively "safe."

Similarly a poll has been started for this release candidate as before and I welcome your comments on whether this release is ready to go public to this thread. If you're new please don't hesitate to jump in and tell us your thoughts.

Lastly, as always, you can obtain the most update to source code of the binary on our CVS at SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkubator/).

Cheers,
Mark

I like the very small filesize updater :-) Especially with my crawling connection at home....

I think we could probably include the game frozen graphic in this release if you like it, since the code is basically ready (right, Chris?) ... I have e-mailed the text-only transparent tiff to Mark and Chris...

But I have not yet found anything wrong with the newest release :-)

Ok. That should be possible. Also DaFalcon when you see "nospam" in an e-mail address you can generally be certain that it is not part of the actual e-mail address.

lol, I figured as much, but thought that possibly mac.com had some new spam-filter feature or ... lol, ah well :)
