The smilies are a bit interesting :sneaky: , however, the music is quite good. Everyone should take a moment to check it out. I just wonder what their pricing is like.

After looking at their website, and the site for the Mars game in the other thread, they look professional. Did you actually look at their site?
With regards to the smilies skyhawk, have you tried posting to a Russian website in Russian and got the amount of smilies correct? ;)

sometimes! I've never paid much heed to the websites I can't read... Foreign languages are not my forte.
After looking at their site, I see they have a decent portfolio... Now someone toss me a non dialup line so I can test some of their samples.

and... one question bothers me..
Will US&Europe companies work with Russian? I am afraid that superstitions :sneaky: about Russian are really bad.
Only one hope for me that music is unique language and if you like soundtrack that it doesen't matter who've done....

I'm afraid many Westerners still harbor mistrust of Eastern Europeans and Russians. Which is unwarranted I feel. It seems to me that many great web designers, web programmers, and electronic artists are coming from the area. A great example is Plesk, which is made by Russian coders but marketed by a Western company.
BTW, my company must do business in Russia but we don't speak Russian and need help booking flights, etc. If you can spare a moment, please contact me by email.
Good luck in finding business. Also, consider working with or entering your company in to our game development contest which starts in August -- uDevGames 2004.
Cheers,

Personally, the music feels a little too cluttered for my tastes. Too many different types of instruments all going off at once, but who am I to talk, I wish I was half as good.
As for what Carlos said about mistrust between US and non-US companies, well, let's just say that those who don't drop that mistrust will eventually go under, or at least will never be on top.
[I wrote a huge long article, and it isn't fair to derail this thread, so I'll post a new one]

May you point me what kind of music you've listen. Your opinion is very intresting for us. Thank you.
Frankly speaking all music was made specially for customers in turn this mean that sometime we can't write music as we think only:)) but usually we try to find common point of view with customers and suggest several tracks (different styles or instruments or mood) to achieve project's goals.
And last but not least some track are not in best quality and this isn't final versions 'cause several customers was afraid of unlicenced music usage... And we use for our portfolio several music drafts...
Thank you for comment one more time ;)

I listened to about the first 6 or so songs listed. The ones that were the worst, were the songs with the classical edge. By cluttered, well, there was just far too many different instruments going at once. I enjoyed the main theme of the songs, but there was seemingly random drum beats and other instruments in there, that I believe would be better left out. Like during one of the dramatic songs, the dramatic drum beat that went along with the music every time it hit a low point, was actually good. But then you had wood blocks going off, and I thought I heard some cymbals, and those were just too much.

The flame means that the thread is popular and getting a lots of messages posted to it in a short time span.

For those, I just listened to them in Safari, but most songs I listen to with iTunes. The software shouldn't change how music sounds though; the only time that can happen, is with midi, and even then, it has to be sound card based midi, and not Quicktime Instrument based midi (which always sound the same, because it's not reliant on a sound card).

Just wanted to let you know: just that you're Russian is so cool that I would consider hiring you right there, just because of that. I'll make sure to keep your studio in mind whenever I get a reason to consider contracting music. Good work!

You know what I like with your work? You seem to know what differs movie music from game music. It is very suitable for games, in my humble opinion.

Actually, iTunes has a "mp3 sound enhancer" enabled by default (check Preferences) and it may also have the Equalizer turned on.
Oh, and after I finish learning japanese (I know 10 kanji, 49990 to go :() I intend to learn russian too! :) No, seriously. It would look so cool on my resume!

I tried learning some Japanese.... I know a few short phrases, but don't remember any of the kana symbols or anything. At least I can still manage Romanji.
I had a Russian roommate last fall and spring. He was cool, but when I tried to learn some Russian from him, I got lost. I can't make the sounds come out right! He laughs at me!

UglyDuck -
Make sure to put your contact info in all of your mp3 files tags!! Very important. Often I listen to them long after I d/l them and wont remember where they came from. Make sure the artist field is filled out - and put your web and email addresses in the comment field. You want to make it easier for devs to find you again.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it's enabled by default, probably the latest version of iTunes I installed just kept my previous preferences (?)

If you know any online "tutorial/guide" with lessons I can download, that would be great, since I usually navigate using windows and most russian pages do not show up with the right charsets. (powermacx AT yahoo DOT com)
