Anyone know where I can find a 2D tile and map editor? I can find plenty of them for windows, but haven't seen even one for OSX. I know they have to be out there :) Looking for something along the lines of Mappy or TileStudio.
Thanks,
Greg

Still in progress, but it sounds like what you're looking for.

There is LevelCreator, which works in Classic compatibility mode. I apologize for an archaic answer.

It is open source under GPL. I agree that a 2d tile map editor is a void that needs to be filled. I may eventually do it.

I thought Level Creator was Carbonized? I enjoyed using it, and would really love for someone to Carbonize it. Especially since SpriteWorld has been.

I've updated MapCritter slightly, removing a few bugs and adding a some new features -- you can change the size of maps and robustly cut & paste between maps of different sizes, there's a pick tool that lets you copy cell attributes and stamp down pre-attributed tiles, you can use the info panel to apply changes to large selections of tiles at once. The one major problem that still exists is that you can't easily change the set of tiles used for the map. Hopefully I'll have that remedied in a week or two.
Here's the link to the source and executable:
