Sure, I should have been sleeping, but oh well, I experimented with some new levels (http://members.aol.com/alanfalcon/alanlevels.sit) instead :) These are just for fun, for anyone who wants to try a variety of some new levels, a couple of which hint at the kind of stronger strategy that could be required by future Hooptie levels...

I can't wait for a graphical level editor and some new objects/tiles to play with! :)

Hehehehe, the level editor is comming along. Talk about running into some problems though! It's one thing to run through and implement all the examples in the "Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X" book and it's another when you go off and try to implement something on your own. :)
Currently the editor can read in a level file, draw the map board, and allows you to add a tile (currently only the icecube tile) to the display and snap that tile to a grid. I'm working on the palette right now so that you can select which icon you want to add to the map. Once that is done I will add the save feature and make a initial release for some feedback. I hope to have that done sometime by the end of next weekend (not this weekend! Next weekend). The code is in a bit of chaos right now (i.e. it's not going to win any coding awards and will most likely be laughed at by my peers :) ) but will clean it up once I get things working properly.
DeFalcon, I really like the images you are producing for the game!

Glad to hear that we might have a working version so soon! :-) I really like the progress Hooptie has made, we've got a good portion of a great little game on our hands :-) And it is fun to be a part of an open-source group, even if I'm not a programmer

Thanks for the new levels, DaFalcon. I enjoyed playing them and can understand why you originally wanted connecting pits in Hooptie. But don't worry kjurtyl has taken the oppertunity to work on implementing connecting pits and says that the task is almost fully completed.
It's also good to hear John's still working on our level editor, thanks John. :)
