Just curious. I'm from Austin, and if there is compensation for voice acting (I would need to take a personal day from my current job to do it), I would love to try out.

On average (I realize it depends on the part), what is the going rate for voice acting?

I am not sure what the ongoing rates are, but I bet it's not a lot of money. The fee depends more on the kind of usage than on the amount of studio time. I am sure there's a guild of voice professionals and you may be able to find some information on their web-site. I don't have a link though.

To give you an idea, I paid $600 for about 12 minutes of a top talent for a one-shot multimedia presentation I did for Samsung. I would think these guys are paying considerably more than that because of the size of the target audience and the time the game will be available in the market.

I understand that whoever they hire will need to go to the studio quite a few times, so you are probably looking at more than one trip.
