Hi and welcome to the Inkubator Project's message board.

This thread is here to welcome those of you who haven't visited us before. It's a general "meet-and-greet" thread where newcomers can introduce themselves, discuss their ideas for the project with us (if they have any) and ask any questions they might have about the project.

Essentially, introducing yourself is the first part of project participation and we really want to hear from you. There's generally no question you can't ask and often the biggest mistake people make in asking questions is to not ask them at all.

Of course we admire those with perseverance, but we're not going to flood you with obligations (we've already got people like our graphics DaFalcon for that :D) or guilt you in to contributing as we're not about that. If you decide this project is not for you, that's cool.

So please, sit back, relax take a look at our website (http://inkubator.idevgames.com/), our current project (named Hooptie) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkubator/) and when you feel like it jump in and say hello.

We welcome those new to programming and have elementary tasks available for you to complete, before moving in to the more exciting ones (and we're happy to help you all the way with those tasks). We also are desperately seeking those talented with game music and sound effects so if you're one of those people don't miss the opportunity to be our idol of the week as well as help improve a really great game.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Mark.

Regarding the sound issue, is there any reasons why we couldn't pillage (and I use the term loosely here) the game assets available on Idevgames?

I understand how it would be preferable to have a sound/music person, but until one presents himself/herself, perhaps we could use those as place holders.

Who made those anyways?

Yes, I agree that before the next milestone we should have at least some place-holder audio in place. But I see no huge rush

Carlos made a great many of those sounds.

I'm happy to take sounds from iDevGames, but someone would have to pick which sounds to use where.

Worse comes to worse, I could take a stab at it. Unless someone cares to pick that task up?

well i found a method that might speed up quartz for the app if u dont already have it. You have to tell the window "useOptimizedDrawing:(BOOL)" with a value of YES. everybody probably already knows that though....

lol, I hate it when smilies end up where you don't expect them :)

Quick note: To avoid the smilification. Select "Disable Smilies in this Post" when posting or editing. "useOptimizedDrawing:(BOOL)"
