Here is the beta to GL Golf 1.4 - http://nuclearnova.com/temp/glgolfbeta1.4.sit
Instructions - Its a demo BUT you can press P to skip a level and O to redo a level for testing.
I need feedback on a few things -
1. Speed - People with a computer slower than 1GHZ please open the console and while in GL Golf press 't' to NSLog the current FPS (capped at 85 I think). Then go to the main menu and go to File menu and then Render Quality and then Medium. Please report as well as CPU/Video Card/OS X Version. Hopefully the new better looking mode is faster because 50% less vertexes are used.
2. What do you think about the new graphics with multitexturing compared to the old version (or medium render quality on this version)?
3. I just re-implemented wind, what do you think of it?
4. Does it crash? Thats the main reason, I am not sure whats going to happen on OS 10.2 or with nVidea cards.
Know issues - The edges of some levels are not what they should be (for example sand jets out of a bunker into infinity) - will be fixed tonight.
Thanks for the help everyone - I think with the improvements as well as shrinking the download size to 3.5 megs (from 6) I should receive many more downloads and a better conversion ratio.
If anyone is interested in any changes from the beginning, here is a change log
