View Full Version : 3D Motorcycle needed
Does anyone have a low poly 3D model of a motorcycle? I found some really nice ones on the internet but they were all really high poly count. I was thinking maybe <400 for the motorcycle, does that seam right?
If anyone could make me one I could probably send them a small payment.

1) why not take the high poly models and stick them in some app and have the app "reduce polys"
2) if the motorcycle is going to be the main thing on screen, as if we are ALWAYS going to see it, I would suggest it be well detailed enough. The eye may not notice bad geometry on a fast passing sign, but I guarantee you, if they are staring at your motorcycle's backside for the entire game, they will notice the polys.

I'd recommend 800+ polys... if you plan on having at most 8 bikes on the course (they won't always be seen).
the bike will be in a display list, and the wheels in a separate list.

Hmm. Threw together a quick model in Wings3d, haven't really done any low poly modeling before but I thought I'd give this a shot. I'm not really sure what the "rules" are with game models, but this is currently 672 tris, tried to keep it as low as possible but it seems pretty hard to get much below that.

Need to fix the windscreen, looks too much like a touring bike but it sounds like you wanted more of a sport bike.

I agree, thats the only thing that stuck out a little bit. BUT like danlab said the wheels will be spinning so they don't need to be rounded overboard.
