Has anybody else here ever received an email pertaining to these? I've just received one regarding a registration of shivering kittens (http://www.sealfin.com/) – it looks nearly-certain to be genuine (I've forwarded it to spoof@PayPal anyway, as a precaution) including a few details which would only be known to myself, the buyer, and PayPal – but PayPal are requesting a lot of details they should already know – and who in their right mind would commit fraud for a $3.95 game?

Someone in Germany wanted to register Descender (http://www.sloppydisk.com/descender/) through PayPal, and I let him do it. So I went through the hassle of creating account, and then having paypal send me like an $11 check. It really wasn't worth it, because now I get all this spammy e-mail from paypal, and the occasional paypal scams. The PayPal experience is probably the most suspicious online financial site I've ever encountered, and I can't fathom how people like David Rosen use it as their middleman for all registrations.

I know a couple guys whose accounts have just been completely frozen by PayPal and unable to withdraw money. I believe slava from Unsanity (http://www.unsanity.org) lost $5000 through PayPal...

If you are a bona fide, up-standing individual with hundreds of successful transactions, but someone pays you with a stolen credit card, your account (by PayPal's own admission) is immediately flagged as being "criminal behavior" and any money in that account is confiscated.

That's very scary. Over the years, I've had several sales through stolen credit cards with eSellerate, where we've had to refund the order and contact the credit card company. I can't imagine having all my sales in PayPal, and then they suddenly take all my money because someone tries to pay with a stolen card.
