We already have it compiled on MacOS but need the help to get it installed on other computers. If someone is interested in helping us please contact me at elvenprogrammer@gmail.com

Just a side note because I tried helping but had problems with the headers not being detected by guichan but:

You will need SDL, SDL_image, SDL_mixer and Guichan if you are going to help
thank you. :)

Uhhh the Mac version doesn't work...which is a problem since this is a Mac forum. Is it just broken for now, or what?

Well we're trying to fix it, that's why we're here to ask help ;)

That site seems familiar
Didn't have Guichan so now I'm going to see if I can compile it. What exactly does it do? It isn't very helpful on it's sourceforge page saying what it does. It just says it integrates with SDL and Allegro and etc...

I'll let you know,

Made Guichan and still didn't work, and to get the SDL version I suppose I'm gonna need the either the SDL source or SDL developer binaries. And after my last mixed up attempt at doing that, there's no way I'm going to try that until my Dad can be bothered to do a SUDO and install GCJ. He can then install SDL whilst he's at it ;)

Guichan is a GUI library. Then you need SDL of course, I think you can just get the binaries

Nice, I'll do it some other time.
Did you by any chance link to this in the Liero chatroom? I seem to remember this site and I keep thinking of liero...

I think one of the devs was working on Liero, so it's possible that he linked us.

Apparently I can't get it working because I don't have tiger

Oh, woe for those not willing to dish out 100$ every month to keep up with steve "New reality-bending ipods!" jobs.

crash report? BTW, open config.xml and change sound to 0 in tiger; it crashes.

Repeat: I don't have tiger

I'm on a 350MHz imac running OS 10.3.9 w/ 320 RAM & (8?) VRAM
I already asked for help on the issue in the irc chatroom, so I've already disabled sound, and then I ask if this game will only run on tiger and up and I get a yes.

I hate the mac platform so much right now

Dude, chill. Besides, what are you blaming Apple for?

what are you blaming Apple for?

Making an operating system that has to be upgraded every few months at a pretty heavy (100$+) cost in order to play games that should be able to run on all of them.

Edit:

Well now this is interesting, it works now. The 8th time's the charm?

Malarkey

Except that you can choose not to upgrade and really, it only costs about $129/year, give or take a month. And unless a game is using really Tiger specific stuff, it should run on a 10.3.9 system and if it doesn't, then either it's an issue for the developer of the game to take care of or there's something wrong with your computer.

So again, how is this Apple's fault?

Even then, why the need to upgrade?

Yeah, darn technology. I wish we could just go back to those "my computer pulls enough power to dim a city" days. Those darn people and their "personal computers" made me fork out more money. Darn them all.

Because I like new toys. Mmm... XCode 2.x... Hm, getting back on topic, maybe I should download the Mana World and try it out too. I have 10.3.9 and 10.2.8 installs here on this machine specifically for testing purposes.

If you've turned off the sound, you're in the same deal as me. Just launch it a few times and hope you get lucky :P
