Thats whats been hot this summer. Don't you wish Mac game developers had an association that listed the Top mac selling games, quarterly, yearly, etc.
I guess one can go through the 1800+ games at macupdate checking downloadsd, reviews, and trying to geuss-timate how many copies were sold. Ugh.

Actually, those cricket games make sense. The games that sell well are seldom the ones you think.

Check out the Entertainment Software Association's fact page (http://www.theesa.com/facts/index.php) and download this year's pdf. It's packed full of interesting facts about the video game market. I got last year's too, and comparing them it's interesting to see how trends have changed a bit in just one year. The average age of the video game player went up from 29 last year to 30 this year. My favorite info is on page six. They break it down by console video games and computer video games. What surprised me was that the first person shooter isn't anywhere near the top of the sales chart like I imagined, and RPG's are only about 10% on both! Strategy and family take up more than 50% of sales on the computer, whereas action and sports take up over 50% on the console. I thought that was an interesting stat. It implies to me that people tend to be a little more egg-headed about their computer use.

Do you know what the number software sales are? Tax software. How vile.
I guess if you can make a game that also does your taxes for you and gets you a big fat refund, you can make a killing.

I like "Pokemon XD". I assume the "XD" is an emoticon showing the facial expressions of the Nintendo Pokemon financial people. ;)

I like to look at "Windows XP" the same way. That's how we feel about each other :)
