Ways to get graphics - shrakrak - Aug 1, 2011 10:52 PM
i am a new game programmer. i am about to complete my study phase and i want to try a building a complete game
since i lack any artistic talent or graphic skills, i want to contact someone to do this service for me.
i believe many game developers do the same. i just have some thoughts about how these contracts usually go.
where can i find graphic designers?
is it better to hire someone from my area or that is insignificant?
how does the payment usually go? per sprite? per project?
any other tip would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

For this years uDevGames contest I've used http://99designs.com/ to get a basic sprite sheet. Some of the people on there are interesting in donig indie game work. Also worth checking out http://forums.indiegamer.com/

Hey Baldock, can you share the link to your spritesheet 99designs thing? I'd love to see the entries and how that worked out for you, if it's available to share.

The gfx was I using I become suspicious about as I found them on to different "free icon" web sites each with different licences. Did some more searching and I found the author were he clearly stated they were personal desktop use only. So I thought why not give 99designs a go. Here is my below design contest.
