I'm just looking for info from someone who has an app on the market about how Apple deals with currency conversion. Say I put an app on the market from the US, and someone buys it in Singapore.
The contract states that the dev is responsible for conversion fees from their bank, but there is no info about how much that might be. If their bank charges a lot, that could suck.

Hello everyone ,
I'm here to present you a game i have been working on almost three months now it's based on slicing objects like ninja fruit but in this game you actually slice turds.
There are two different modes the story mode which include different levels and stunning environments and also dynamic objects.
there is also a rating system similar to many games on the app store and also a high score menu which include your different scores on these levels.
there is the endless mode which is quite similar to the ninja fruit game it's based on how much you can stand without slicing a 3 TNT object.
So finally Turd cut is quite of a fun game in a cartoonist way and also provide a cool game play The levels are dynamic which mean for every different level there are new clothes or hats for turds which make you stand in front of your ipad or iphones for hours of fun game play.

Cheers.

I'm looking for a unity developer/programmer to collaborate on creating a game demo for the purpose of pitching investments to produce and finish the game. Demo would consist of one level of the game and several menus to show off the interface and general look & gameplay of the game. The game is a 2- 2 1/2D side scrolling platformer, some music/effects and graphics have all ready been created and is ready for starting to implement them. I'm looking for someone who can add there skills and make something really great. I'm willing to collaborate via online so location is not important although if you in the Minneapolis area that would be a plus. The initial collaboration would be purely sweat equity until funding was established then work would continue on being paid and reimbursed for prior work. Project timeline is estimated at 6-8 weeks based on availability (nights, weekends, etc). Please contact me for further more details or questions, thank you.

chad [at] revestudios [dot] com or on the thread.

Some visual assets and concept art below to get a taste of the game.

Hey mates,

I have had this idea for a game for a long time: a game that should serve as a tutorial for programming. This should be instead of reading a tutorial somewhere.
So I finally found the time and I have implemented an early prototype of the game . It could therefore be nice if you would play the game and give some feedback(via the game) so I could know how and where I should continue.

My overall goal is to have this game on a website together with other informations about how to start to programme - and of course all this will be free so everybody has the chance.

NB! The game has been created for 960x600 so make sure your browser is at least the size!

the game can be played on http://www.sqdejan.com

Thanks in advance mates!

Hi guys

Wow we've been here for 2 years XD Time DOES fly when you're having fun. We couldn't have done it without you.
We're celebrating the day with the 2nd Year Anniversary Sales.

We also have new model it's Genie

Magic lamp is definitely an interesting thing to drop into your game, the player picks it up, wonders if it's just an decorative object and part of him hopes for a genie and BAM! You satisfy him!
Genies can grant wishes to those who bind them, best them, or earn from them a favor. However, it is widely held that one must be very wary of the wording used in such a wish. When dealing with genies, the saying "be careful what you wished for" takes on a life and death meaning. They surely enrich your story!

[Closed] Help wanted: app developer to help port a game

Hello,

I'm the owner and sole employee of My Game Company, a small independent developer who makes family-friendly games.

I'm looking to bring my flagship game, Fashion Cents Deluxe, to IOS/Android tablets. This is a dress-up puzzle game for girls, which my wife designed and I programmed for her. The game earned a place among the top 10 finalists in the 2004 Independent Games Festival, and was featured in the August 2005 edition of Parenting Magazine. The game appeals not only to younger girls but also women of all ages - even grandmothers, who remember playing with paper dolls as a girl. Because of that, Fashion Cents Deluxe has continued to sell fairly well over the years. But lately, I've been getting a lot of requests for a iPad/tablet version of the game. I was planning to do the port myself, but I have another project right now that demands my full attention. So I am looking for an IOS/Android developer to help me out.

The ideal candidate must have already published some games on IOS, which I can look up in the App store with my iPad. Since I'm a small developer with a limited budget, I can't afford to pay the candidate up front, so I'm offering a 50/50 revenue split. The candidate is expected to port the game, publish it, interact with app review sites, and to help promote the game. Since the candidate will be publishing it and receiving monies for it, the candidate will be expected to provide regular royalty payments to me. Thus, the candidate must demonstrate they are reliable and trustworthy, so references are required. Ideally I'd like someone who has ported games for other companies in the past. Candidates who haven't ported games for other companies but would still like to apply should at least provide references from other parties that you've worked with, such as artists, musicians, etc.

Depending on the success of this project, there may be opportunity to port additional games for me in the future.

Fashion Cents Deluxe was written in C++ using cross platform libraries, like SDL and SDL_mixer. The code that uses the libraries is isolated to a handful of classes, and the game itself is pretty straightforward, so I would think it should be fairly easy to port. For this game, I'm primarily targeting iPad and other tablet devices; some of the pieces in the game (like shoes and jewelry) are probably too small for the game to be playable on a smart phone's small screen, but I'll defer to the app developer's judgment on that.

Interested developers should email me at: info AT mygamecompany DOT com.

You can check out the game at the Fashion Cents Deluxe home page:

Hi!

We are a small non-commercial game developing team that designs mobile games for Android and iPhone platform, and are currently looking for a 2D Character Artist to complement our team in our current project, a little pass-time pizza cooking game called "PizzaParty" for Android and iPhone.

PizzaParty is a fun, fast-paced game in which you take on the role of a pizza chef at an Italian restaurant and have to speedily prepare pizzas. Under the pressure to deliver in time, you still strive to create the most rich and beautiful pizza the customer - or you - could ever imagine. Will you be able to find the perfect strategy to get the highest tip from your satisfied customers?

Tasks Description:

2D Character Design: Design of avatar characters, with interchangeable facial features such as a variety of eyes and beards, accessoires such as hats or sunglasses, clothes etc. - no animations required

Icon Design: Icons for achievements

User Interface Design: Create a user interface to display list a of highscores and achievements. Create a user interface for avatar customization where the user can "dress up" the avatar

Our team currently consists of two software developers, one artist and one musician in the late 20s to early 30s, each with a professional background in their respective field. Since our artist is taking an educational break we are looking for a skilled replacement, someone with a light spirit who shares our passion for creating games and would be interested in helping us to finish this game.

The game in question has actually already finished a closed beta stage and is about 90% complete, however we still wish to add some new features (such as a customizable avatar and achievements) before the final release and thus require a bunch of new graphics as outlined above. We expect 2-3 months of remaining development time until the project can be finished, so there's still plenty of chance to bring in your talent, and also the prospect to continue working together on potential future projects

Since we develop this game mostly as a hobby, we have no specific plans for monetization yet and thus can make no promises regarding financial compensation. Should the project however yield any profits, such as ad revenues, they will be divided among all contributors.

If you're interested, please feel free to send us a link to your portfolio to computerhead[at]googlegroups[dot]com, or just get in touch if you have any comments or questions. #define false 0
#endif

That old C interpreter also doesn't have a bool type, which is a little more of a problem, as...

Code:

#ifndef bool
typedef short bool;
#endif

...results in g++ complaining that I'm "redeclar[ing] C++ built-in type 'bool'", which is annoying as eg. "#ifndef int" functions as I expected. Edit: no, it doesn't function as I expected, I managed to bugger up the test

At the moment I'm circumventing the problem using "#ifndef __cplusplus", but I'm wondering whether there's a proper way of checking for the existence of a type?

I have a set of 2D Cel-shaded characters for an upcoming game that I need animated. Here is an example of the type and quality of work we need:

Sample Character - Ice Demon
Here is the animation look we need:

Sample Animation - Jump + Attack

For some reason the quality on that image is a bit degraded, but the quality of the animation needs to match the quality of the character in the first link.

We pay $50 for the attacking animation which (as is shown in the second link) involves a character moving to a location, attacking, then moving back. Not all characters will jump as this one does and the swinging will need to look different for each character as well.

Prices are negotiable. If you're a rare talent we will pay more.

The reason the title has such a wide price range is because we pay $50 for the move / attack animation and that will be the minimum the job requires. If you're good and are easy to work with we have hundreds of dollars of animations we need.

We pay ~$20 for simplex animations. The move / attack animation is a compound animation and that is why we pay more for it.

Please also peruse our style guide to get a better idea for the type of art style you will be required to duplicate.

Finally, the format we need the animations delivered in is single frame PNG files at a size of 250x250.

If you're interested please email us at submissions@watermintstudios.com with a link to your qualifications (which should include work that matches what we're looking for) and we will message you if we are interested.

Thanks
