Coders Workshop WATER Competition Started!
http://www.codersworkshop.com/viewarticle.php?id=8
Hey guys, we're hosting a competition over at Coders Workshop with a very nice prize listing to boot! Write a cool game with a WATER theme to it (this could be an underwater game, a fishtank, a jet-spraying game, or anything!) then submit it to our competition before the end of May and you could win one of our top prizes!
We've got plenty of stuff to give away, including:
* 3 RARE Supersoaker CPS-2100s!! (you can't even buy them anymore!)
* FruityLoops Producer Edition
* UltimateUnwrap3D for model texturing
* Pro Pixel 2D, a graphics editor
* Games, mousepads, and more!
Hope to see some very cool stuff in progress! All information regarding the competition is found at the link at the top of this message.

Yeah, take a look at the page he linked to. It says they're accepting both PC and Mac games.

From the site:
("Program Specifications")
I'm guessing the last line should really be
("Program Specifications")
Quote:# 1GHz Processor (Pentium 3 or G4 Mac)
# 128MB RAM
# 16MB Video Card
# 32MB HD Space
# Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
I'm guessing the last line should really be
Quote:# Windows 98/Me/2000/XP or Mac OS X 10.3

Alex,
Sounds like Water Tower would be a good entry. Could win a supersoaker
or something.

Oops thanks! Yes Mac games can be submitted, I'll change the last line of the spec!

Also, the minimum RAM for OS X should probably be 256 MB

128 MB is more than enough, especially as it is a contest game and not a full A list title. I can play games on my iBook with only 128MB no problem.

Dunno, that super soaker looks pretty bad-ass.
Got me thinking of ideas, anyway

I have 256MB, and with iTunes, Firefox and Colloquy open my Mac starts to page-out as soon as I open mostly any game

will probably enter WaterRally. should have time to polish it by then
itunes and firefox alone are enough on my 128...

Just bumping this thread, any news on watery games so far? I'm looking forward to seeing some coool entries!

Time's almost up, so don't forget to get your entries in! The upload server is currently down, so please use http://www.yousendit.com and email your links to seth@idigicon.com before the end of the month!
