hi, im going to be using a playstation eye to control the input of a program, i just need to get action in the x and y plane from it. i have a driver called macam (that i think has a plugin too), not worked directly with drivers (or plugins) or webcams before. am i correct in assuming once this driver is installed and the ps eye is connected and inputing a signal that i can treat it in the program as "the" webcam, and that there are functions that will return pixel information?

is there anything more useful like further functions that might search for a group change in pixels for a given radius? im basically constructing a touchscreen and the ps eye will be set up to receive infrared light only.
