The blue/white combo would certainly show up nicely in a game sprite... I'd consider keeping that striping, too Smile

There is going to be gameplay, right? :-)

Don't get me wrong, I'd give you some points for a slideshow of the above art with accompanying text exposition. But I think your overall score would suffer. Give the player at least one choice anyway. ("Which ship do you like better? Correct, you win!")

Measure twice, cut once, curse three or four times.

This only has 2 test levels. The real level work is moving along, but we are a bit behind and wanted to just get something up there.

1) menu has some serious delays in it. clicking credits seems to work, but over time, clicking other things caused serious delays. I clicked vote twice, and then I clicked start, and I got shoved into my web browser twice while the game was trying to start up. How disconcerting. Vote also caused some white text to appear, but it was very hard to figure out what it was saying.
2) not sure what saga does.
3) it's not clear that we're supposed to click skip as a way to progress past dialog or click on the giant green box (like previous UI elements)
4) not sure at all how I'm supposed to shoot an enemy that spawns up behind me, flies in a straight line towards the center, and then backwards out in a straight line. This is completely attackable. (assuming I can only move in a circle and spam the fire button).
5) let me hold down space bar? my spacebar would like to not die.
6) after 2 waves of not killing anything, I got stuck on the death screen for like 2 minutes without being able to progress back to the main menu.
7) randomly losing the game (not a "life" or "hit point", the entire game) because the enemies spawn behind you, and you have 0 time to react is a douche move.
8) you should probably just progress from the "press any key" screen automagically after a set period without having to press any key or stating to press any key. Still support advancing via any key, but just not state it explicitly. Should also allow advancing via mouse click (to be consistent with the rest of your UI).
9) the enemy ship explosion seems kind of out of place. multicolor explosions of all sort? I mean, I suppose that's okay, but perhaps make it a tad faster?

I see some potential in this gameplay for some fast riveting gameplay. But the controls and level design needs to be worked out. Also the UI needs to be a tad more consistent.

hmmm.. this playable is way too early. Who released it? I will get Apple legal to send in their goons to confiscate their machine. Doug, did you leave the playable at a bar like that iPhone?
