Selling your mac game

One thing is making games or the engineering part. Then there's the marketing part, promotion and all that. What about sales? I'm thinking about the part when people actually buy your game.

I know there's the mac app store and then there's also the possibility to sell your Mac game on your own site.

So the question is: how do you do the sales so that your users get a smooth experience and come back and buy your next game?

What should you know if you're using the mac app store or your own site or both?

What do you integrate on your site and in your game? Updates? News? How do you handle the billing? How do you handle the support? How do you handle the after sales PR?
