I started programming for Mac in 1997, as a hobby and a way to gain useful skills, which I failed to acquire in my English literary studies. My Mac knowledge helped me get work in a Mac reseller, where I saved money to go back to school for computer science. That was just before Mac OS X came out, and I dived into Cocoa programming immediately. When I finished my second degree, I got work as a Mac support specialist. I continued to write Cocoa programs and play around with OpenGL in my spare time.
I landed my first programming job at Marketcircle, makers of Daylite and Billings, in 2007. I worked there for five years, and specialized in networking, client-server protocols and multi-user, heterogeneous sync architectures. In 2011 I left to work at Nulayer, a mobile developer who made Score Mobile for iOS, a free app for keeping up with pro sports games with over a million users.
In 2012, I moved from Toronto to Edmonton, and decided to go solo. I am currently working on a game for iPad and a utility app for Mac OS X, and researching the generation and display of procedural terrain using voxels. |
