Apple Releases Xcode 2.2
The update fixes some known problems in Xcode 2.1 and adds new features and enhancements. New Features:
- gcc 4.0.1 The version of the compiler has been bumped to 4.0.1.
- Symbol Separation GCC now supports building executables with debugging symbols physically separated from the Mach-O binary files. This results in much smaller binaries and much faster link times.
- Attach in Xcode debugger The Xcode IDE debugger can now be used to attach to and debug an executable that was launched externally. In addition, if an application that was launched from Xcode’s ‘Run’ command crashes, Xcode will automatically attach its debugger to the crashed application.
- More per-architecture settings New, per-architecture variants of several build settings allow the use of different compilers, linkers, and deployment targets for PPC and Intel builds.
Note: You must be an Apple Developer Connection member to download Xcode.
