Unity for iPhone
We launched our Unity for iPhone support on October 22nd, and the buzz hasn’t stopped since. Not only are existing Unity users adopting the iPhone and iPod touch as an exciting new distribution platform, but new users are coming on board in huge numbers. If you haven’t yet taken a look at Unity iPhone Publishing then please do so today: it’s quite simply the easiest and best way for folks to create great 3D content for the AppStore.
Unite 2008 Summary
Unite 2008 was an incredible success, with 2.5 times as many attendees as last year! The conference featured an inspiring keynote by our founders and Atari’s President Phil Harrison. A dozen technical sessions were delivered by leading users and our own developers, great “open mic” presentations were given by the community, and all attendees got hands-on help and assistance from our staff.
Unite is as much a social as an educational event. Developers came together to learn about Unity and get to know each other to establish collaborations and friendships. We held two Unity Mingle events, where attendees had plenty of time to relax, talk shop and have fun. Special thanks go out to the Flashbang Studios / Blurst.com crew for sponsoring the mingle events: we appreciate your support of Unity and our community!

Unity Awards
In conjunction with Unite 2008 we awarded the Unity Awards to the community’s greatest games. This year’s Unity Awards were built on the success of last year’s Top DOG competition and the improvements were wonderful. The number of entries doubled, the quality of the entries skyrocketed, and the results were simply amazing. An overview of the contest, including the prize winning entries and recognition of a number of special entries, is right here:
