uDevGames 2004 Awards Show
On tonight’s broadcast of The Gamesome Mac, the Mac gaming radio program, hosts Sean Smith and David Finley, together with iDevGames’ Editor-in-Chief Carlos Camacho, host the uDevGames 2004 Awards Show. Now in its fourth year, uDevGames is the annual independent Mac game development contest. Sponsored by iDevGames, the Macintosh game developer community, this year’s contest has attracted 31 entries and over $33,000 in prizes.
“This year’s games are the best ever. The quality is way up,” said Carlos Camacho. “Contestants had three months to develop a Mac game from start to finish. So that other developers can learn from their experiences, all games and source code are made freely available, and tonight’s winners will publish post-mortem reports on the development of their games.”
Not only will Sean, David, and Carlos announce the winners and runners-up from uDevGames 2004, they’ll also talk with some of this year’s contest developers, take questions live from listeners in The Gamesome Mac’s chat room, and give away over $1,400 worth of listener prizes.
The uDevGames 2004 Awards Show can be heard live on MacRadio from 6 to 8pm Pacific Time, 9 to 11 pm Eastern (Tuesday from 0200 to 0400 UTC), and on demand thereafter. Listeners can tune in at The Gamesome Mac’s Web site, where they’ll also find archives of past programs. QuickTime 6 and a 56K or faster Internet connection are required.
